074 | Ambassadors for sustainable tourism
Travelling triggers change … it changes the environment, the economy, the people in the destination regions, and the travellers themselves who gain new impressions and experiences. Every individual traveller can shape and promote sustainable tourism development with his/her decisions, activities, and behaviour. This is where the Naturefriends International workshops “Youth Ambassadors for Sustainable Tourism” come in: Young people gain knowledge about sustainable tourism in a global context, are encouraged to critically question the tourism industry, and learn to reflect on and change their own travel behaviour – and they share and discuss their new knowledge with their friends.
Young people from Austria, Senegal and Togo participated in this project and, via an online platform, intensively exchanged their views on what fair travelling should encompass.
