The linguistic diversity of our society was at the heart of the project “Experiencing diversity”, implemented by Naturefriends Vienna and Naturefriends International.  

It’s especially teachers in agglomerations who are facing major challenges linked to the increasing linguistic heterogeneity in their classrooms. However, this heterogeneity comes in handy during excursions to explore our natural environment – forests, meadows and rivers become outdoor classrooms which create space for different languages. The experiences gained were summarised in a handy brochure which provides teachers with ideas and suggestions for multilingual outdoor activities.
