Women are strongly represented in the tourism labour market. In many countries, the employment rate of women in tourism is above the average rate in other sectors. But which role do women have in tourism? And how can tourism help to empower women and promote gender equality? We will have a look at real life and present regional and international initiatives which endeavour to empower women in tourism.
