"No increase in military spending!" This is the demand of the joint initiative of the German Naturefriends federal executive committee and the peace movement. It opposes NATO's goal of investing two percent of the gross domestic product in weapons. Instead of putting money into military armament, more money is needed for conflict prevention as the main goal of foreign and development policy.

And above all, politicians are asked to change their strategy: stop military armament, reduce tensions, build mutual trust, create prospects for development and social security, keep on communicating also with Russia, negotiate and disarm.
