The project “People help people" was initiated by the local group Saviore dell'Adamello and aims at restoring harmony with oneself and with nature through the knowledge and experience of indigenous practices. The teachers were the Tibetan monk Geshe Lha tenkiong and the Native American As Cecil Cross from the Lakota Sioux Pine Ridge Reserve (South Dakota). They have visited the Naturefriends Saviore several times in recent years and have developed a collaboration with the Apache in Arizona and the Sioux in South Dakota.
After the visit of Ola Cassadores Davis of the Apache tribe in 1998, the Naturefriends Saviore dell'Adamello joined the struggle to protect Dzil' Nchaa Si An (Mount Graham in Arizona). Here – in the area sacred to the tribe, where the members gather for their ceremonies – three telescopes should be built. This was the beginning of a close collaboration, many Native Americans came to Italy to share their culture, practices, ceremonies and visions of life with Naturefriends.
